Renegade Bus

I admit it: I've been Katrina surfing. There are so many sites with pleas for help, food, rescue, missing pets, photos of looters, etc. As New Orleans drowns under the floodwaters unleashed by Katrina, the world drowns in a plethora of sensationalistic newsfeeds.

I did find one story worth pursuing, though. Have you heard of Jabbar Gibson? He committed a felony: broke into a school yard, stole a bus, and drove 13 hours to bring some 100 refugies to safety.

"The young driver, who was still looking for some of his friends and family, said he was not worried about the legal repercussions of driving without a licence.

“I don’t care if I get blame for it so long as I saved my people,” he said."
