plucky pleckos perish

After having spent a leisurely weekend swimming merrily upside-down in the warm shark-infested waters in Room 103, young plecko pals Meghan and Adelleh have mysteriously vanished. They were last seen snuffling along the walls of the tank for algae, early this morning at breakfast time. "When I served the morning meal (fish flakes à la française) there was quite a frenzy, but everyone seemed to eat to satisfaction," says Mme LeNoyeau*.

Mid-afternoon an observer reported the two finny friends missing, but it was assumed they'd gone for a nap in their vacation villa (the castle). When Mme LeNoyeau came back later to serve the evening meal, she noticed that they were still absent.

Strangely, the three sharks in the tank, though clamouring for food as usual, seemed to have unusually distended bellies.
