Digitized Doodles

After years of dilly-dallying, I have finally scanned a few pieces of artwork. This piece was drawn from a postcard photo of Stanley Park in Vancouver, B.C.

This one is of the inside of the St. Michel Monastery, off the coast of Britanny, France. The drawing took about 14 hours in total, done when I was in grade 11.

In loving memory...

For those of you who remember, Marcelle and Kiwi (above) were my two class guinea pigs. I just heard last night from the student who was pig-sitting for spring break that Marcelle has died. She was only 4 years old, if that (we got her as a pregnant young adult three years ago).

*Sigh*

Kiwi will so miss her momma, as will the 31 students in division 4 and their doting teacher.

Royal foisting?

CTV News tonight covered the Royal conundrum facing Prince Charles and his fiancée Camilla Parker-Bowles... will she be Queen, or not? While the Prince and his bride-to-be are quite happy to have her be a Princess-consort, it seems British tradition has always been that a King's wife be called the Queen, though a Queen's husband is not the King.

Another disappointment is that they cannot be married in a church, since they are both divorced, nor will they be allowed to wed in Windsor castle, their second choice.

While I will admit celebrity gossip has its place in the news, I for my part royally enjoyed the news anchor's double misshap while reporting on this item:

"It's been a bumpy road for Prince Charles and his... long time companion, Camilla Parker Bowles"

"The Queen will not be attending the civil weeding - uh wedding"
